March 1, do you still remember what day is today? Today is the 20th birthday of the amazing 'Glory of Care'! Since its establishment on March 1, 2005, the scale of 'Glory of Care' has continued to expand. As of the 2024/2025 academic year, the number of Glory of Care members has reached an impressive 93 and the number of office-bearers is 21.The present scale of 'Glory of Care' is attributed to the dedication of the teachers, office-bearers and members over the past 20 years, which has enabled 'Glory of Care' to continue to make progress and to promote education on AIDS prevention and treatment.

We are truly grateful to the College, the President, the teachers, all students, the Students' Union and the alumni for their unwavering support and invaluable opportunities.Over the past two decades, 'Glory of Care' has been able to do so much. We have been able to promote education on AIDS prevention and treatment for the Macao community, as well as conduct voluntary educational programmes for AIDS orphans in children's homes on the Mainland. These activities are a testament to the College's spirit of 'From Personhood to Benevolence' and the nursing profession's 'Respect' and 'Care' for life.In response to the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS)'s "95-95-95" AIDS prevention and treatment target to be achieved by 2030, we are committed to ending the AIDS pandemic.

Let's take this opportunity to review the activities of 'Glory of Care'!

Volunteer Education Programme:
Glory of Care's Volunteer Education Programme has been an annual focus of the organisation since its inception, and it's a cause close to our hearts! The programme provides care and companionship to AIDS orphans in Mainland China, and teaches them daily hygiene knowledge to help them grow up healthily and happily. These activities not only provide students with valuable learning experiences, but also let these children feel the warmth and care of the community, which has a positive impact on their growing environment.

World AIDS Day Celebration:
Every year on 1 December, 'Glory of Care' celebrates World AIDS Day with a range of exciting activities, including seminars and quiz competitions, to spread vital knowledge about AIDS prevention and treatment to the public in a lively and interesting way.

Talks in secondary schools:
After professional training, 'Glory of Care' members visit secondary schools to share vital knowledge about AIDS prevention and treatment with young students, delivering important health messages to the future pillars of society and fulfilling the mission of knowledge dissemination.

Freshmen Peer Education:

Every year, 'Glory of Care' organises peer education for freshmen students of the College, aiming to deepen and inspire their professional knowledge of nursing, cultivate their professionalism and lay a solid foundation for their future nursing careers.

'Run! Red Ribbon!' programme:

We are thrilled to share that the 'Glory of Care' has been actively involved in the 'Community Red Ribbon Campaign - AIDS Education Funding Scheme', a remarkable initiative launched by the Health Bureau. Through vibrant camps, exciting orienteering competitions, engaging quiz contests, and other engaging activities, we have promoted the vital importance of AIDS prevention and care to the students of higher education institutions in Macao. We are delighted to see that our efforts have sparked a sense of social responsibility among the young generation.

Outreach activities:
The awesome outreach activities of ''Glory of Care'' are mainly through interactive booth games and questionnaire surveys to understand the public's knowledge of AIDS, and at the same time, to provide targeted health education on AIDS prevention and treatment, so as to reduce the risk of HIV transmission in the community, which is really exciting!

Members' Meeting:
The members' meeting aims to promote the exchange and communication among the members of 'Glory of Care'. Through relaxing and enjoyable games and dinners, it not only helps to relieve the students' pressure in their studies, but also strengthens the cohesion and sense of belonging among the members.

Looking to the future:
Looking to the future, 'Glory of Care' is thrilled to continue working towards the '95-95-95' HIV prevention and treatment targets for 2030 proposed by the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS). We are excited to announce that we plan to launch more innovative activities.'Glory of Care' is dedicated to sharing knowledge with students and the general public in an engaging and accessible way. At the same time, the programme is thrilled to announce an increase in the number and frequency of volunteer teaching trips to the Mainland each year. This will ensure that more students have the opportunity to participate in volunteer teaching activities and to bring warmth and care to AIDS orphans in children's homes. Together, we can create a friendly and loving environment in which they can grow up.

Last but not least, 'Glory of Care' would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to all those who have supported Caring Light all the way. It is because of your encouragement and support that the mission of the Caring Light can continue to be carried on.Let's join hands and continue to move forward on the road of AIDS prevention and education, bringing more light and hope to the society!
