Kiang Wu Nursing College of Macau (KWNC) attaches great importance to the physical and mental health of its staff, and is committed to promoting the concept of health management and actively responding to the policy direction of ‘’Blueprint for a Healthy Macau‘’. In order to achieve this, the College has set up a ‘Self-Health Management Corner’ with the theme of ‘Self-Health Management Corner, Preventing Chronic Diseases’, aiming to enhance the health awareness of all staff and outsourced workers, and to encourage them to pay attention to their own health condition and actively prevent chronic diseases.
‘The Self-Health Management Corner, co-ordinated by the College's Professional Competence Development Centre (PCDC), is equipped with a wide range of health screening equipment, including body composition machines, electronic blood pressure machines, blood glucose meters and thermometers, etc., to provide staff with convenient health screening services and to enable them to keep abreast of their own health conditions. At the same time, the management corner also provides professional health counselling services to assist staff in correctly interpreting the test results to ensure effective use of health data. In addition, the Management Corner is equipped with a health information column, providing practical information on chronic disease prevention, nutrition and diet, and exercise, etc. This provides staff with a wealth of health knowledge and assists them in cultivating good living habits. Through comprehensive facilities and professional support, the College expects every staff to establish a habit of health monitoring, identify potential health risks and take appropriate preventive or improvement measures at an early stage.
